Information relating to our competitions throught the season.
For the 2024 /25 season it was agreed that there would be two entry categories:
- Beginner/Intermediate &
- Advanced
This will be reviewed for the 2025/26 season.
Digital Projected Image Competitions
Number of Images: a maximum of 5 per competition (unless otherwise advised)
Subject: All open
Colour or Black & White - no restrictions
Image sizing:
Max 1600 px wide
Max 1200px high
So generally speaking if it's a landscape orientation it will have a longest side (width) of 1600 pixels and if a portrait orientation then the longest side (height) will be 1200 pixels. It doesn't always follow as some images have a less common "aspect ratio".
When submitting competition entries, this is done via this website and it will not allow you to upload anything larger than the 1600 or 1200 limit so be aware of this when trying to upload.
Printed Image Competitions
Number of Images: a maximum of 5 per competition (unless otherwise advised)
Subject: All open
Colour or Black & White - no restrictions
Image sizing: Prints can be A4, A3 or whatever size suits your image. It's "normal practice" to have a maximum mount size of 50 cm x 40 cm, which is approx 20 inches x 16 inches, but it's up to you.
Images do not have to be mounted, but generally look better if they are. However, judges will be asked to not mark down any image that is unmounted.
