Wildlife/Nature focused trip to Latterbarrow Nature Reserve

Fri 6 Jun 2025 1:00pm

Trip organiser will be there whatever the weather, but the butterflies may not in poor conditions.  Wildflowers including orchids and the rare and 'local' Lancaster Whitebeam tree.  Butterflies on the wing include Northern Brown Argus and Small Pearl-bordered Fritillary (it is as beautiful as it sounds).  The recent drought has impacted the site and we apologise for the short notice in order to try to maximise the photo fun.

Directions: Head to the Derby arms, Witherslack, Grange-over-Sands LA11 6RH, turn left at the pub, follow the narrow lane a short distance, park in lay by or a bit further along by the reserve entrance.  Grid ref: SD 44094 82709.  What3words: hips.digested.station

The site has limestone outcrops and smooth (slippery if wet) rocks on paths, some gradients.  Please wear weather & terrain suitable cloths/footwear.
